Draft at Jackie O’s Public House, 7/14/14. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, roast, dark fruits, spice. The taste is toffee, dark fruit, chocolate, bitter hops. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery during the 5th anniversary party. (Listed as ’Sparkbock’ on brewery list, typo?) Poured a hazy amber red with a near white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma had notes of sweet earthy grains with a bit of oak and biscuit. Flavor was sweeter with biscuit and sweet grains coming through with a dry oak finish.

Sample at Jackie O’s as part of Ohio Brew Week. This brew is a clear reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Caramel malt aroma with some dark fruity notes. Medium body with a strong malt base and flavors of caramel, dark fruit and chocolate. The finish is malty with a slight booze and fig character and a sweet finish. Above average overall.
