A small batch of Serum, our super hoppy, amber XXIPA, has been aged in charred Kentucky white oak bourbon barrels! Infused with smoky notes of charred oak, vanilla, and caramelized sugar, Oak Aged Serum is a truly unique treat for hop heads and bourbon aged beer fans alike.

Bomber. Pours hazy deep amber, maybe reddish with a good-sized head. Smells of bourbon, sweet dark fruits, and perhaps some pine. Taste is a slightly sweet malty bourbon, vanilla, hoppy concoction. Earthy and alcohol flavors pour into my mouth.

Bomber from Whole Foods Foggy Bottom DC. 5/23/14. Pours a murky amber color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee, bourbon and a bit of toast. The taste is citrus, tropical hops, bourbon, toffee, mild wood and raisin. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness. Definitely no longer comes across as a DIPA.

22 ounce bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Pours a cloudy copper orange with a finger of off-white head. Light lacing. Aromas of big bourbon, coconut, vanilla, oak, citrus and hops are mostly masked by the bourbon. Tastes of bourbon, vanilla, candied fruit, caramel, booze. Medium-light body with a dry and warm finish. IPA notes are pretty much dominated by the bourbon character.
