Forester's is an aromatic, straw coloured ale with a fine balance of malt and hops on the tongue.

An ideal hoppy session bitter aptly named after the Ancient Order of Foresters of Carlton in Coverdale and our first pub in that same village.

Hand crafted by our award winning brewer in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales with the finest floor malted Maris Otter Barley, Carapils Malt, leaf hops and Wensleydale Brewery's own yeast strain.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, slightly pale golden beer with a small, white head. Citrus peel dominates the aroma, hints of pineapple and grapefruit, as well as pinecones. The flavor is pretty much the same, quite one dimensional, but with some malts in the background. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Short citrusy finish. A beer that drinks easily but I suspect I would grow tired of it rather quickly. 110319

Cask gravity at Battersea BF 08. Gold with very thin beige head. Aromatic, floral hop aroma, touch of butter/caramel. Hardish flinty water in the mouth. Bit of tea like flavour. Quite a flavourfull session bitter but on the buttery side which I don’t like.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF, 2004] An orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is nicely sweet and hoppy intertwined with some grassy notes. The flavor is cask flat with lots of hops, both aroma and bitter hops, that gives it flowery and grassy notes and a nice bitter finish.
