Bottle from Chester Beer & Wine, Chester. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Traditional ale and a sweetish porter, and this is represented in its aroma too. It's low on dark brew character.

On tap at Huxleys, Chester. Pours almost black with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. There’s roast malts and lactose in the aroma, plus some hints of coffee. In the mouth it is sweet, smooth and creamy with malts and oats plus hints of milky coffee and vanilla. Finish has a little fruitiness. This is a decent porter.
