2009 Bottle 15 of 156. Pours black with tan head. Nose/taste of bourbon, sweet chocolate, vanilla, oak and dark cherries. Finishes smooth with mostly sweet chocolate. I was told these bottles might be infected, but I didn’t notice anything amiss. Medium body.

Very dark brown beer - clear - just! Light tan head. Light palate, dry. Sourish dark malt. A little bourbon and dry wood. Basically a sourish porter with light barrelling and chocolate. A tad dry and slightly disappointing, Bottle 23/156.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of wavers1. Bottle # 99/156. Pours a warm reddish brown with a rough beige coloured head. Some sweet Bourbon in the nose and a slight tartness. Medium body, carbonation is a little low, a dusty roastiness, again a dry woodiness - Bourbon? - and a slightly tart finish with hardly any hops. Nice and interesting. 230211

Bottle shared by Matt at the September 2010 Metro Detroit tasting, thanks! Poured near black with a grayish brown head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma was full of dark roasted malts with a slight dark chocolate note and a hint of oak. Flavor was more sweet and roasted grain with some bourbon and a bit of chocolate.

22oz bottle shared by Doug, thanks man #76/156
Appearance: Pours black with a small tan head and some lacing
Aroma: Roasted malts, chocolate and metallic
Taste: Dark malts with tart fruits.
It tastes like it was slightly infected, it’s possible this was intentional. But the flavors didn’t mesh, it was footbalmed

Sample at the HSC Sour Beer Tasting on 06/19/2010: Thanks to JaBier for sharing bottle #55/156. This brew pours a dark brown color with a thin beige head that dissipates to an outer ring eventually. Stringy lacing on the glass. Oaky bourbon, vanilla and malt in the nose. Rich and smooth body with flavors of caramel malt, burnt wood, vanilla and bourbon. The finish is oaky with a roasted malt and tart fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.
