Made with 100% Maris Otter malt to back up the barrage of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma, this beast knows no boundaries. With all of this hoppy goodness packed into one beer, we wouldn’t have called it by any other name. Spike’s Brewing Words of Wisdom: Oh no, they say he’s got to go. Go, go Hopzilla!

22oz bottle shared by Doug, thanks
Appearance: Slightly hazy golden with a nice white head and some lacing
Aroma: Grapefruit and tropical fruit
Taste: Grapefruit and pine resin with a dry finish
The more this warmed up the better and more bitter it became. A nice DIPA.

Bomber from Oak Tree. Pours very hazy dark gold with a foamy off-white head. Lots of floral and citrus in the aroma. Full bodied; very nice carb. Flavor is lots of floral hop, with lots of fruity hop, some of which turns out like grapefruit rind. Nice malt background, but it’s background. Very nice; mellow; hoppy as heck, but not in a super harsh way.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market, Glen Allen, VA, opened 9/23/10. Pours a very hazy orange yellow color with a medium creamy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus, earthy and tropical hops, with coconut and a hint of caramel. The taste is big hops, practically pineapple juice, along with citrus and tropical notes. Pale malts and a bit of a coconut vibe, again. Lingering bitterness. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 10/3/10
Aroma: The nose has lots of fresh citrus hops along with some pine, resin and floral notes
Appearance: It pours a hazy orange-yellow with a nice frothy white head and some streaky lace
Flavor: It has a nice fruity sweetness, pineapple, grapefruit, and a big hoppy bitterness as well
Palate: It is medium to full bodied with a sticky/resiny feel and a lasting tingle on the tongue
Overall Impression: You've got to love trying a new beer sitting on the couch on a nice Sunday watching football. That had nothing to do with this beer other than it describes the time it is being enjoyed, but I typed it, and so it is sticking here anyway. On to the beer: This one is really good. A great hop nose to go along with a nice hoppy flavor makes this a really good example of the DIPA style from Terrapin. The nose is truly the stand-out of this one, but the flavor is quite good as well. Not only is this the best thing I've had from Terrapin, but this is bordering on being up there with the World Class IIPAs that I've had the opportunity to try. I'd put it just in the second level, below the Plinys/Hopslams/Yulesmiths of the world, but still right up there with everything else. Really good stuff, I highly recommend.

Pours hazy dark golden color with white head. Grapefruit rind and citrus aromas. Sweet maltiness with lots of citrusy hops. A hefty dose of bittering hops. Slight heat from the alcohol. Medium body with average carbonation and a resinous, sticky mouthfeel. Good stuff.
