Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours golden with a slight haze and a small white head. Tart and slightly citrusy nose. Heavy body, almost sticky and syrupy fruitiness, quite some yeast with a very solid dose of bittering hops in the finish. Another unusual German attempt at a Belgian-style strong ale. 230211

1 yr. aged bottle, generosity of the brewer Shortlived, amberish tinted head over reddish/orange amber beer, hazy. Despite its age, very inviting fresh malts & toasted malts nose, with the hops present. Some polysaccharides smell; generally toasted-sweetish nose. Ever so slight oxydation, but markedly sharp toasted flavours, with some arachide and even greenmalt, hints at sourishness and wet mowed grass. Retronasal some esters, especially as from (sugarpreserved) citrus. Burning MF, marked alcohol; slick & creamy texture, body seems lighter than it really is. Brewer - German after all - feared oxydation most - for a cork-stopped 3/4 litre bottle with beer at 9.2% ABV... OTOH, what comes most through, is the marked difference of beers brewed with the dispense at the brewpub in mind, v-v the bottled, preserved product. Still, quite good - many thanks!
