Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. First impression was of a rather muddy looking dark beer with a scummy beige head; but holding it to the light revealed a golden colour with flashes of cherry red; the aroma is malty with a touch of brazil nuts; the taste is malty too, with some sweet Vimto fruits, but it’s all rather thin and watery; there some gentle bitterness leading to a doughy finish. A nice mild, but nothing more.
