Bottle picked up directly at the brewery, Augsburg Nov 23' and consumed at home, had it Christmas Day, Monday 25th December 2023 after a big lunch at Gasthof zum Sonnenwald Schöfweg. Listening to Fever Ray - Radical Romantics. Pours amber, murky appearance, the head disappeared very swiftly, leaving it a little flat but TBF not too dissimilar to most Barley Wines. Sweet a little bit boozy, some nuttiness, the Madeira adds a nice touch, warming a little honey, this is classy, a little soft, a touch of woodiness, alcohol hangs around a little reminding you of the kick that this beer has, really like this.
