500ml bottle. Clear, dark ruby colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Slightly wet strawy, mellow malty aroma, half-baked fruity hints of red berries and cherry. Taste is minimally doughy malty and bitter hoppy, minimally toasty-spicy nutty malty overtones. Rather boring - maybe useful as a kind of "neutralizer" between all the heavy and spicy Xmas specialties.

Bottle from the Champion of the Thames. Light russet brown, thin and clear with only slight head. Metallic filtered-to-hell beer smell, but there’s a nice berry and forest floor scent underlying this. Taste is pretty good, with vanilla fudge sweetness tempered by fruity hop. The finish unfortunately throws a bit of astringency, which doesn’t work at all. Far too carbonated. Disappointing.

Bottle appeared one winter few years ago at a local Konzum store in Zagreb. Shared with Marko. Amber, diminishing whiter head. Dominating malty aromas. Strong caramel in the beginning, dry fruits. Light, some hops in the finish, dry aftertaste. This could be much better.

Bottle from Aldi, Eccles. Reddish-amber with a glow and no head. Has an easy-drinking texture with a light sweetness followed by a small bitterness.

Classic bitter appearance- copper, clear, with a small foamy head. Aroma of caramel, grassy hops, bready malt hints. Taste is more of the same- vague hop bitterness, then fruitiness towards the finish. Solid, unspectacular.
