Jan ’15. A 0.5 l bottle. It poured clear red body with a small, short living head. A bit metallic roasted caramel aroma. Lightly bitter, dry flavor, like a typical English macro bitter. Biscuit&caramel were more or less everything offered, lightly herbal, too. Medium bodied, but its simplicity gave away watery impression. Shorter finish. After some nice beers of the evening this was expectedly mediocre, even bad for a Christmas brew of any kind. Drinkable though.

Bottle 500ml (K-Citymarket Puuvilla)
Deep amber color, small white head. Sweet caramel, candyish aroma with light fruity hops. Light-bodied. Fruity, even a bit berryish-candyish flavor, caramalt. Then English hops in the finish and aftertaste. Sweetish "Christmas" bitter.

500ml bottle from Aldi - a pretty looking beer, copper body, white head. Heavy malt nose, with a bitter tang to taste. Not Christmassy, ordinary bitter.

Bottle, 500 ml, shared with JFK10000. Pours amber with short lasting foamy beige head. Caramel aroma and flavor, malty, spicy. Bit artificial. Light bodied. Not good.

Bottle: Oh god. It’s another Green King sub label - I really need to check more carefully. Nose: Butterscotch, wet cardboard, earth, light fruitiness. Taste Is fruit leading to light malt, butterscotch and a touch of caramel, stale spice in the finish. Mouthfeel is thin. It’s a deeply bland bitter, with a faint waft of spice t. Awful.

Hazy brown colour. No head. Has a fairly typical malt flavour with a slight fruitiness. Far too gassy.

Another overpriced Christmas ale that suddenly appeared in Croatia. 4 Euros for a bottle. Eh. Thanks Hrabren for sharing this! Poured a ruby/amber body with a small off white head. The aroma is adequately fruity, caramelly, malt dominated really, with a dose of dried figs. While the hops don’t make much of an impact there, they do in the taste - which is also quite fruity, backed by a smooth maltiness, with note of cherries, creamy too - giving it a slightly bigger than expected dose of bitterness then, though hardly appealing. And that’s generally what’s the fault with this - the descriptors look good on paper, and yet in practice, they fall flat, too light, watery, kinda feeling diluted (obviously not), not terribly Christmasey, without enough bang for the buck. Too light for its own good, though not the worst ale you can run into, far from it.

Bottled 500ml. -from local Konzum supermarket. Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, toffee and metal in the nose. Sweet malty, buttery, caramel, slight fruity and metallic with hint of spices and ice coffee. Short and rather sweet finish.
