33cl bottle from Toscanaccio, Winchester. Reddish amber in colour and absolutely flat with no trace of head; fruity, vinous aroma, with eye-watering alcohol; somewhat better in the mouth, but rather thin, with a predominantly malty taste with a touch of fruit and soft caramel; and some strong alcohol to finish. Almost medicinal.

Bottle. Reddish amber with a coat of beige head that soon vanishes. Aroma of toffee raisins, spices, alcohol. Slightly syrupy and quite bubbly. Bittersweet with dried fruits and sherry, enough bitterness to just about choke off the sweetness. Quite noticeable alcohol. At least as much dopplebock as ESA. A little after its bb date, so maybe the emphasis on the oxidised notes is due to it being old.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of raisins and alcohol. Sweet with some hoppy bitterness and alcohol.

Bottle. A dense, light beige head leaves lacings over a clear, amber body. Almost beef-stocky nose with dried fruits, caramel and some sweetness. Quite pleasant, sort of blending dark bock and a strong English ale. Full-bodied, a bit low on carbonation and a bit warming. Some licorice in the flavor, with dried fruits, caramel, some sweetness and a touch of beef stock. Lasting finish. A beer I could easily drink every now and then. 120107

Bottle in Genoa, purchased at Enoteca Squillari. Clear amber beer, big pale tan head. Softish dry palate with a carbonated sting. Sweetish malt, trade of bubblegum. Dry finish. Not too sweet but really not picking up any hop. A bit one dimensional.

Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Rune. Fortært i heimen 7 Jul 11. Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt, svakt farget skum. Aroma av plommer. Smaken er litt mandler med en tørr ettersmak. Undertone av alkohol. Søt avslutning. KI=7

28/08 0.33 l bottle from Coop store, Gradisca d’Isonzo. It poured copper body with smaller head. Caramel malty and a bit alcoholic aroma. Slightly bitter, alcohol biting flavor, malty in honey and overripe peach way, being sweetish on that side. Medium body with sharp and crude fruity finish. A bit boring and quite a disappointment, like on almost all of their other beers, after I tried their pale ale which was great.
