750ml bottle [Sud Nr. 09-2014, #92/130]. Dark chestnut colour with ruby red glimmer and average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Oaky and dark malty aroma, notes of morello cherry, hints of sour cherry, a touch of vanilla, some treacle, dark chocolate, a mild marmite touch. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, dry, tannic oaky, notes of morello cherry, a touch of vanilla, sour cherry interludes, milk and dark chocolate in the background; some warming alcohol becomes perceptible not until reaching the "ramp" to the stomach. Super-soft, smooth palate, rather light and drinkable for its high abv. Not far from a Schwarzwälderkirschtorte.
