Bottle as part of a multi pack from the Brackenrigg Inn, Ullswater. Clear amber to mid-brown in colour with a small head. It certainly has more of a dark malt influence, with a mild sweetness about this aspect too, rather than any actual bitterness.

Clear amber beer, thick, frothy off-white head. Smells of toasty malt and a little honey. Flavour has honey too, toasty malt again, a little apple (maybe?) and dried fruit. Decent heft to it for the strength, could quite happily sink a few of these on a lazy afternoon.

Om cask at the Brackenrigg Inn. Appearance - deep amber to brown. Nose - cake and dried fruit. Some toffee. Taste -cake, caramel and light raisin. Palate - medium bodied, creamy texture and just enough bitterness. Overall - somewhere between a Bitter and a Mild. Enjoyable.
