For this series, Evolution of Citra, we will chart its utility and magic through increasingly big and saturated styles. For this third installment in the series, we present to you the India Pale Ale, brewed and dry-hopped with our finest Citra lots.
From Tree House’s inception, our obsession with the IPA was palpable, and our expertise has been rewarded with your affection and support. The beer you are holding was brewed with our finest ingredients, tried-and-true processes, and a whole lot of pride.
Pouring a beautiful light orange hue, notes of ruby red grapefruit, tangerine, and overripe Ataulfo mangoes lift out of the glass. These citrus and tropical aromas ride a balanced wave of bitter hoppiness that dissipates into a creamy finish reminiscent of a fresh mango lassi. We hope you enjoy this Citra showcase; there is much more to come!

Pours a hazy, gold-pineapple, with smallish head. Aroma has a dank note of sour washcloth upfront, citrus and tropical fruit. Flavors follow, with some dry white wine spice in the finish. Soft mouthfeel. Moderate hop bitterness through the finish.

Charlton draught, 2/4/25.
Pale, slightly milky, bronze-maize-golden. Small, white head.
Funky Citra with fresh, raw earth and a bit of chalk. Tropical fruit with juicy citrus. Pale malts support nicely.
Holy shit! It's just pure watermelon goodness. Zesty spice, ample bitterness, rich, honeyed malts and excellent attenuation. Fresh dry hop with lingering tropical fruit (heavy guava) and plentiful watermelon. Add some freshly squeezed orange juice, light honey-like notes from the malt and you've got yourself a banger. Maybe just a shade sweeter than I'd prefer, but it's a nitpick.
