(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours near-opaque dark gold with an average but stable white head and good lace. Aroma is peach, pineapple, lychee, guava and melon, with lemon/lime (Motueka) and fresh conifer (Mosaic) notes. Flavour is high and bright with peach, papaya, pineapple, lemon/lime plupy juiciness, some white grapefruit, smooth tropical florals, very retiring malt, lightly sweet up front and becoming dry and crisp towards the finish with a little citrusy tart aspect. Finish is lemon/lime, papaya and melon florals, some guava, light piney resinous hits, rather low bitterness and a touch of oniony hop heat. Medium-bodied, slightly thin for style, soft to moderate carbonation. Super-solid DIPA, quite big but (allowing for time in the can) not overy green and spicy like some Messo. Great expression of the hop blend and Strata thankfully hides in the back.
