Original spiced ale with off-white head and cloudy peach blonde robe. Pleasant ginger and gingerbread aroma, hints of caramel, orange and cinnamon, taste a sweetish spiciness much like gingerbread, very aromatic, even a bit sharp at times, citrus, finishing herbally hoppy. Either you like ginger or you don’t, but if you do, there is no denying this is a very enjoyable and creative ale.

Bottle. Gold with a white head. Aroma of ginger - some mellow, a bit of young spicy bite - honeyed hay, light dough, oranges. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Alcohol is completely hidden. Ginger takes a back seat for a while, then comes back at the finish - until then it’s a rather pleasant, somewhat doughy, fruity blond. The ginger pervades but never overpowers - it’s really nicely done.

I usually don’t like ginger, but it worked very well in this one. I think the bitter dryness of the beer helped.

Flaske innkjøpt i Barcelona, juli-12: Høyt skum som varer. Den belgiske ølgjæren gjør seg umiddelbart til kjenne. Krydder og ingefær både i aroma og smak. God balanse mellom maltsødme og krydder. God munnfylde.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy and yeasty aroma. Ginger just weekly present. Light bitter flavor. Ok fruity esters (Blond ale notes). Week ginger notes. Moderate bitter average finish. Oily palate. Ok beer. More blond ale than ginger ale.

This one has lots of spice in the nose and the taste, far more than I could get used to.
