Super crisp and clear golden and light orange coloured body with a very fast-dying off-white head that goes from four centimetres tall to literally nothing (and no remnants) in ten seconds flat. Aroma of lactose, cream, light grain, a lot of citrus and a good deal of pineapple, but the lactose notes are very strong and show almost a creamsicle note and pure sweetness. Light-bodied; Strong funk (or should I say pHunK) to this at first with a lot of the yeast coming out and some of the fruity, tart, soured and just 'off' notes coming through with a lot of the lactose and creaminess showing and a touch of the relatively large bodied maltiness along with the softer and more subtle pineapple and fruitiness that definitely does come through, but leaves a sticky and pungent bite at the end. Aftertaste shows again the cream, lactose and light earthiness with some soft unfinished sugars and a lot of pineapple and citrus sweetness copuled with some earthy and biscuity malt notes along with some wheat and a heavy hit of butter or rich oils towards the end that definitely makes this seem either much more malty (full bodied) or higher alcohol (closer to seven per cent) than this really is, but it just must be the pure lactose here. Overall, an interesting and relatively strong beer with a lot of fruits, some malt and way more lactose and creaminess than anything else here. Funky, pHunky, you pick, but while it's interesting, it works relatively well, and while not a traditional berliner by any stretch, this is one of the things we can do here in America/Virginia that they can't do in Deutchland. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Food Lion in Oak Hall (Chincoteague), Virginia on 14-June-2020 for US$1,67 sampled at my house here in Washington on 26-August-2020.

Pineapple and sour orange. Kumquat. Pours golden without much head. Finish is quite tart. Nice beer. Tap at brewery.
