Inspired by the Belgian “Biere Blanche” style, it is produced using barley malt, wheat malt, unmalted barley, a pinch of oat, Styrian Golding and Saaz hops, as well as a mix of spices: the result is a fresh and elegant beer, very easy to drink, but with clear and pleasant hints of citrus fruits, liquorice and vanilla.

Straw blond with thin head. Light, clean tasting. A bit citrusy and soapy. Perhaps a bit plain.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Alevtina. Cloudy yellow with tiny floaties and white head. Aroma of citrus peels, grains, spiciness, wheat. Sweetish flavor, a bit grainy, spicy, slightly candy-ish, with citrus peels. Quite light-bodied.

33cl Bottle at Bella Storia, Amsterdam. Hazy deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of coreander, wheat, some lemony spelt, yeast. Flavour is much the same, light spicy and nutty finish with some tart lemon. Light-bodied. Nice.

33cl bottle, 5%, 2.90€. Peculiar bottle shape. Cloudy pale yellow, fizzy, quickly reducing white head. Citrusy soft-drink nose, carbonated. Aroma is spicy, probably coriander, floral, citrusy, grainy, yeast. Taste is sweetish to flat, but fresh. Highly carbonated. Medium bodied, dry finish with some yeast. A bit weird but not bad.

330 ml bottle. Tangy nose of lemon, orange, wheaty grains, and spice. Coriander added, I guess. Somewhat creamy but refreshing. Cloudy golden moving towards orange with lace. Rather sweet, fruity, lots of orange and coriander. Not bad, not at all cloying, as the spelt and citrus work to make it tangy. Pretty grainy, though, and not really exciting, but a good enough take on a Belgian Wit.
