We took our base Russian Imperial Stout Kalashnikov and aged it for 9 Months in Jim Beam Bourbon Barrels and then conditioned it on a Mild Colombian Roasted Coffee from Happy Mug Coffee. The result is strong notes of Pecans, dark fruit, cocoa nibs, and roasted coffee.

On tap at brewery. Number one with a bullet. Opaque dark brown color. Small creamy beige ring. Subtle dark malt and coffee aroma. Out of the gate I’m getting big bourbon and oak notes. Hints of rye grain, then coffee and dark chocolate. Lots of astringency from the honey. As brew warms, the complexity evolves. Rich coffee and bourbon notes come forward. Wonderfully crafted.
