Clear amber color, good steady off-white head. Sweet fruity, citrus-piney aroma. Medium-bodied. Citrusy-spicey, sweet fruity IPA. Quite good bitterness, but still easy to drink DIPA.

Etwas trockener Antrunk, der aber deutlich vom Hopfen angeführt. Im Verlauf wird der Hopfen schnell geringer, dann adstringend, etwas holzig. 7/8/9/9/7/9

Location: Draft at Jacks Bar in the Cannery, 5/11/11

Aroma: Decent nose of citrus/pine hops, some earthy/floral notes, and caramel
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear orange color with a white head and good lacing
Flavor: Not particularly sweet, but has some sweetness, mostly bitter and hoppy
Palate: The body is medium, with a smoothish feel, kind of creamy, dry finish
Overall Impression: My first beer of my SF trip, it may be 1:00 here, but I've been up for 12 hours so I needed a beer! Overall, this beer is fairly one dimensional, but it does that one dimension fairly well. A solid IIPA, that is lacking a bit in balance.

12 oz bottle purchased at the Beer Cave in Overland park, Kansas. Pour is a nice hazy unfiltered orange copper with a two inch off white head. Falls with some lacing. Aroma is soft resin, mild citrus and grassy hops. As it warms up, some floral. Under the hops is some crystal malt. Taste is resin up front, along with a decent blast if iced teas from the caramel malt. There is a pretty strong amount of herbal floral grass in the taste as well. Finish is dry, with some alcohol heat showing. Tasted is fine, just disjointed. Palate is medium bodied, nice active carbonation and the dry finish - alcohol and mineral lingers in the aftertaste.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of blutt59. Thanks! Pours a clear reddish amber with a medium frothy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of floral, earthy and citrus/tropical hop notes with a malty finish. The taste is bitter citrus and leafy hops, faint malts and a lingering hop burn. Medium bodied, almost on the thin side.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Brown/gold colour, bubbly head. Good hop. Got a sweetness to the hop. Then lovely dry grapefruit. Good sweet then dry DIPA. Hops eat through your teeth. Good.

Pours a fiery-orange with gold around the sides. White head is small-ish and doesn’t last. Slight haze is fine for the style. Aroma is more malt than hops, with some dustiness. Nice well-rounded flavor with good malt and hop balance. Sharp hop bite in late mid-palatte. Bitterness at the end. Hops really don’t stand out here.

Cask@GBBF2010. Hazy orange colour, not much head. Aroma is pleasantly balanced hops, very fruity and wooden, along with some sweet maltyness. Flavour is fruity and floral hops along with some bready malts and caramel malts, biscuits as well as some slight grass in the finish. Pleasant and actually for once a refreshing IIPA.
