Opaque. Almost black. Small tan head of low retention. Nose: Roasted & toasted, a lot of peat, whiskey, iodine, esters, dried fruits, spicy hints. Taste: Pretty simlar. Medium dry. Light bitter. Notable alcohol. Low carbonation. OK.

Can. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Peated Whiskey. Taste: Peated Whiskey overwhelming roasted malt. A lot of peat. Hints of nuts, almond. I'm a peat lover, so not complaining, but not that balanced. Some hints of coffee at the finish. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness.

27/4/2025. Can shared by Colin, cheers. Pours black with minimal head. Aroma is peaty, dark roasted malts, charred wood, dark chocolate, toffee brittle, nut. Taste is a little peated, moderate roasted bitterness. Quite full bodied, smooth, low carbonation. Not normally a peat fan but this was subtle and worked well.

Can at home, from Craft Central.ie, 25/03/2025.
Pitch black with a good sized khaki cap from the off that eventually thins to a swirl and edgework.
Nose is peated malts, dark chocolate, light spice, herb, bonfire, molasses, burnt honeycomb.
Taste comprises chocolate, dark malts, Laphroaig cask, lightly burnt wood, molasses, spice, peated bite, medicinal twang.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a spike of alcohol.
Solid peated imperial stout ... well balanced and the peat is kept in check ... sips easy for 14%!
