Very dark brown. Chocolate aroma, nice fudge notes. Lots of chocolate, good rich body. Chocolatey finish is thick, with a hint of roasty acidity.

Tap at Grand Cafe, SF. Paid way too much at this upscale joint. But whatever, was paid by the boss, so better get something worth drinking then. This was quite ok. Poured a dark brown with a medium creamy brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee. Creamy soft tste, some coffee, some roasted malt, hint of chocolat. Very decent brew, no flaws.

Sample at the Most Honorable SuperHappyFun Stout Tasting. Bottle from Bevmo in Palmdale, CA. This brew pours the color of a cold cup of coffee with a medium khaki head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee, burnt malt and some dark chocolate. Medium, dry body with notes of coffee, dark fruit and toasted malt. The finish is burnt malt with a lingering hoppy taste left over. Above average overall.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown shine and some sediment floating around under a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolates, and lighter notes of cocoa. The flavor is sweet with a slight acidic note from hard roasted malt combined with notes of chocolate, leading to a very dry finish.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a perfect porter darkness with thin tan head. It has a mild malt sweetness mixed with mild black patent burnt malts. The taste is rich roastiness swirling around with burnt malt notes. It’s a full flavored porter just like the stout. Plenty of flavor interest.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a dark brown with a reddish hue and a tall and extremely lively, beige, shaving foam style head that just keeps on coming. Sweetish yet lightly burned aroma. Fairly light in body with this heavy carbonation. Burned malt accents, some bitter chocolate and a fairly distinct bitterness in the finish. More of a Stout than a Porter in my book. 160607

Bomber. Aroma of chocolate, dark roasted malt and arguably coffee. Dark brown with ruby hilites before strong halogen. Creamy dark tan head that sort of laces. Creamy, toasty, a bit chewy, chocolatey, ending with Guinness tastes along with some coffee hints. Chocolate in the nose and the start, but not in the long bitter, toasted finish. Really quite grand.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a cocoa colored head. Roasty/chocolate aroma. Roasty chocolate flavor with some lactic notes. Good balance. Medium-full bodied. Lingering roast.

Deep dark body under a light tan head. Cocoa and coffee aroma come easily from this one. The flavor follows the aroma nicely and leads to a long, satisfying finish. I don’t know why more haven’t tried this, it’s definitely worth seeking out.
