On draft at the brewpub in Larkspur, CA. Pours a clear dark cola brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavors are moderately bitter roast with a bitter roast finish. Tasty porter.

Draught at Hopwater Distribution. Black with s thin tan head. Aroma of vanilla malt. Flavour is dry malt, a little vanilla, ash chocolate finish.

From tap at Liquid Gold, San Francisco. Black color with off white to beige head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Draft at the Marin brewing company larkspur. Opaque jet black coloured pour with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is woody, roast coffee, hint of ash and vanilla. Flavour is composed of sweet creme caramel, vanilla, soft woody roast, some burnt toast. Palate is medium full, highish carbo action, semi sweet, slightly abrasive. Decent robust porter.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a huge foamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was cola, toasty malts, cocoa and vanilla. The flavor was toasty malts, coffee, cola, cocoa, vanilla and a bit of sweet cream. Medium length toasty cocoa, coffee and cola finish. Moderately full bodied. Nice.

Bottle 22fl.oz. @ [ The Pool Tabel Tasting in Rome ].Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, toffee, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101219]

Sampled at the brewpub. Slightly watery, opaque black with almost no head. Aroma of toast and dark fruits. Flavor is nicely balanced, toasted malts, nuts, dark chocolate with a sweet finish. Very nice.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt, light coffee note. Ashtrayish and hard roasted malt flavoured, mild hops bitterness. No real roasted acidity. Nice smooth roasted malt and light bitterness from the hops. Vague touch of liqourice into a nice roasted flavoured finish.
