Cask at the Emperor, Cambridge. Light to mid-gold with a fairly big white head and masses of lacing. Grapefruit and lime with a touch of soap. Taste is bittersweet and moderately citrussy. But there’s that soapy note again (sigh). Good beer, but why do so many goldens taste so soapy? (I know why, but I want to know why it isn’t fixed). Still quite good despite its faults and probably not being in the best condition.

Gravicask, shared with Finn at St Albans Beer Festival, Hertfordshire bar. Crocheted lacing from a filmy layer. Bright golden coloured body. Grassy hops on the nose. Bittersweet citrus to the taste profile on a backbone of pale malts. Rounded fruit bitterness to the ending. Medium to thin bodied. Fair enough (25.09.2014).

Gravity dispense at the Happy Man Spring Beer Festival, 14/03/14. Clear golden with a good sized off white head of bubbles. Nose is tangy citric fruit, bread dough, tangerine, straw, toasty ring. Taste comprises bitter orange, hop notes, toasty come pale maltings, light caramel, hint of vanilla. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent GB - nice sessionable stuff carrying a noticeable hop presence.

Cask@ Gallows Bird, Espoo. Clear golden, thin white head. Light citrusy aroma, weak aroma overall. Flavor has citrus, rhubarb, hops. Super dry. Thin body. Not bad, but feels over hopped for the abv, now if thats possible.
