Deep dark brown with a creamy off-white head and a soft chocolate malt aroma. Smooth and creamy, sweet fruit chocolate, some roasted malt and a dry bittersweet finish.

Cask at Figure of Eight, Birmingham. Pours a dark ruby / near black with small beige head. This has a brioche malt character with some leafy hop and a finish if coffee, chocolate and a slight berry tang. Smooth. Moreish.

Cask at Gordon Highlander. It pours jet black with a decent fluffy off white head. The aroma is nutty, woody, toasty and coffee. The taste is bitter - sweet, nutty, woody, earthy, roasty, earth, leather, cacao, coffee and dirt with a toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 23/2/2023. Near black in colour with reddish undertones and a slight, beige, head. Aroma of dark fruit, leafy hops, coffee beans and a touch of toastiness. Flavour had chocolate upfront, with some brown sugar, toasted malts and some sweetish notes lingering on in the finish. Good.
