Corked bottle at Canoe Restaurant, Toronto, Grand Reserve Ambrosia
Vintage 2006, tasted at cellar temperature
Blond color, on the light side. Intriguing aroma, with notes of fig leaves, and wood aged Chardonnay, a touch of vanilla. Sweet, not syrupy, with good mead flavor, some wild forest honey, some fresh wood (ash). The final is round and deep. Very good, reminding me the "Iqhilika Cape Fig", but more delicate and maybe more elegant.
