Bottle, 5.4%. Weak malty aroma. Clear pale yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour is nicely malty, has a little aniseed note. Good mouthfeel. A good solid lager.

A couple of glass from a 500ml bottle bought at Systembolaget Gyllentorget in Linköping. Spotty lacing from a loose white head. The body colour is clear, straw-gold. Subdued smell of grassy hops. Bittersweet taste of oily hops and sweet malts, in the directing of sticky, watered sweetness. (hotel room, 14.09.2010).

2009 edition Bottle 9 C. S: malty, danish raybread - nice tones for the nose. A: gold colour, high creamy head - so far promising! F: dry, sourbitter, with a wee hunny swetness - mmm not a good combination. ES: the sour after bitterness clings on... I thought that Kaltenberg should be one of the better Oktober beers?

(Bottle, brewed under license in Sweden by Krönleins) Yellow colour with white, frothy, but brief head. Malty nose with notes of bread, grain, grassy hops and a hint of citrus. Malty, grassy taste with bread, citrus and grassy hops. Initial bitterness fades out towards the dry finish. Cleaner, drier and less malty than most german oktoberfestbeers. Fresh and drinkable.
