Each version of this beer uses the same base recipe but only one variety of hop is used in each. This allows the drinker to experience the unique characteristics of a single hop variety on it’s own. They are made in a similar way to Restoration but only conditioned for 3 months prior to bottling and there is only 1300 numbered bottles made in a year. Trials were carried out with a number of different hop varieties and the low alpha "aroma" type hops gave some of the most interesting results.
Vertigo "VC" @ 9.8% ABV (uses only Cascade hops) - amber in colour with an aroma of spice, pine and woody oak. The flavour is sweet caramel, toffee, vanilla, pine and grapefruit leading to a resinous peppery spicy finish. Status - made in 2009 only.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Copper colour, off-white head. Nose is malty, candy sugar, spicy. Flavour is sweet malted, candy sugar, caramel, spices, a bit fruity, oranges. Quite malty, a bit boozy. Has more of a barley wine than an IPA. Sweet, slighty sticky finish. Good stuff.

Courtesy of fonefan; parallel with Vertigo "VF"; brewed in April 2009, 2 years old
Cloudy orange-amber color; small head. The aroma is sweetish, with mellow malt, light alcohol, light fruits; the fruits have a light citrusy touch, to differentiate it from the VF. Good body strength, round mouthfeel, with a good and sweet malt flavor; the bitterness is objectively strong, but less prominent than the malt; there is a good fruity vein from the hop, with a lemony component.
Very good, but I prefer the character of the VF.

Bottle. Courtesy of Fonefan. Pours deep amber with a small creamy off white head. Hoppy, fruity and earthy nose and flavor. A bit of dust and alcohol. Slick and oily. Smooth. Citrussy and grassy hop flavor - again with a bit of dust and rubber. A bit unclean in a way! Warmth . .

@yespr tasting. thanks a lot. cloudy brown, small white head. bitter hoppy aroma profile, alc. well hidden, malty base. flavor is quite yucky, very bitter , notes of gasoline, good malty base. the flavor is pretty disturbing to me though. red berries fruit skin bitterness sort of don’t work here.

Bottle 27,5 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a cloudy amber with a small and rough off-white head. Sweet and syrupy nose with some phenols and hops. Solid body, low carbonation, syrupy - almost mead-like - with a heavy hoppiness under the sugars. Fat hops in the finish. 050111
