The Sonoran 200 is literally a step beyond extraordinary. Infused with Agave nectar that takes it to 19.37% alcohol, the beer has been oak-aged for almost a year on site. The result is a full bodied yet very round and smooth beverage (can it be called beer?) that is unlike anything you have ever tasted before—and that is one reason it is so hard to describe!

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with no head. The aroma has notes of fruit and malt. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of malt combined with notes of fruit and dessert wine, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Bottle shared by nbutler11 at the RBSG Grand Tasting. Thanks! Pours a murky brown color with no head. Looks pretty much like mud. Big aroma of agave, sweet honey, soy, raisins and earthy, nutty notes. The taste is sweet honey, soy, agave, caramel. Medium-full bodied. Interesting.

Bottle thanks to BavarianPurity. Wow this beer is something else. Pours a syrup looking clear dark orange with no head. Aroma has strong notes of alcohol with notes of agave and honey. It all combined for a weird Hersey’s syrup type aroma. Flavor has a strong combination of alcohol, honey and a agave note. A very thick syrupy feeling on the tongue. This definitely must be sipped on and it wears on you.caramel,

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Looks about the same as Sonoran 100. Muddy golden-brown body. Still. Smells like mead. Oak, agave and honey. Taste is sweet and very meed like. Syrup and goodness with some chamomile tea with milk and honey. Syrupy body with a very light alcohol burn for 19.37%.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy ice tea color. More of a toffee aroma than anything. Very thick creamy body. No carbonation. Like a tastier version of S. A. Triple Bock. Flavor is pretty much tasty toffee with a little maple and something herbal - likely agave. There is oak astringency in the finish. There are complex nuances.

13.2 oz bottle from Barclay’s Wines. Nose is more like a mead crossed with a sake than an ale; Nose shows the agave as honey sweetness, caramel, oxidation odors, light woodiness, and background molasses. Hazy light amber with a chartruse smoky haze showing as I hold it to the light and no apparent carbonation. Flavor is mapley sweetness, hints of sherry wine, woodiness like a cedar aged sake, and a bit of SA Triple Bock oxidation notes in the background. Hint of alcohol warmth in the finish. Almost as unusual as it’s Sonoran 100 cousin. Wish I still had one to compare it with! 3/26/17 My last bottle! According to my perusing my notes, every detail from 2010 appears to be there. Still really nice woody, and exceptionally smooth!
