500 ml, bottle.
Not your usual beer, gave the feeling of a small, rural brewery - maybe because I enjoyed it after a hearty lunch at a traditional German restaurant. Wouldn't recommend it before food or just to drink something.

Big thank you to Erzengel for this 0,5 l swing top bottle. BB 05/2024. A dark red brown in the glass, one finger pale beige head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste starts malty, little bit dry. Fruity apple in the background. Increasing bitterhop in the second part. Average carbonated. Mediocre.

* Old rating, 0,5l swing-top bottle, best before 5.2009. Malzig-trockenes Bier. Röstmalzaromen, ein Hauch von Karamell, moderat bitter. Nicht zu trocken, schön süffig. Lecker!

500ml bottle. Clear reddish chestnut colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, pale ochre head. Caramel malty aroma with hints of rock sugar, a grainy touch. Taste is monotonously, moderately sweet caramel malty, malt lozenge; light body. Very drinkable, slightly too sweet.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Clear, copper coloured, small to medium-sized off-White head, clean sweetish-caramelly to toasty nose, a delicate fruitiness is detectable; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, pretty light-bodied, but nevertheless soft; short sweet-bitter finish. Quite nice and well balanced...

(swing top bottle) Clear, reddish brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Slightly molassy roast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, Blockmalz and shades of instant coffee and rubber in the background. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Mildly roasted malt-character with loads of caramel and Bavarian Blockmalz bonbons, lingering into the sweet and slightly roasty bitter finish. A tad sweet but still likeable Dunkel. 02.VII.13
