Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, getreidiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, getreidig, schwach grasig hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure

Bottle at home. I quite like that the malt character has a deeper layer to it beyond the pale bready stuff, it tastes like honey on oats, nice. What’s not that nice is the lack of bitterness and thus the unbalanced impression, my palate got fatigued by the sweetness by the end of the bottle

Tap at the brewery. My sixth MJ500 beer of the journey so far. PAle, shiny gold with a low head. Rather dead malt nose, low hops. Creamy, sweet flavor, somewhat eggy. Dull, oily body. Far too sweet and rather lame overall. Interesting to think that Michael Jackson liked this enough to include it in his 500. There were few well-known Baden-Wurttemburg beers, then, so he must have been happy to try these at the lovely Brauerei-hof. Crazy that 4 Hoepfner beers got into that book. One is now retired, and the Jubelbier only comes in the winter. This was either way better back then or Michael just had such a great time here that he wanted to be nice.

0.5l bottle. Clear golden body with a white foam. Aroma of bread, pears and some spicy hops. Taste of bread, grains and spicy hops. It’s hoppier than an average helles. Simple beer, but I like it.

And again a 0,5 l bottle from Kristall-König. Thanks a lot mate! Pale clear golden in the glass with a big off white head. Honestly nothing on the nose. Taste starts with some grassy malt, some citrus, some grain. Later little bit more spicy. Very low bitterness. And another easy to drink Helles. Nothing really wrong but also nothing I would remember in a few minutes.

On tap the at the brewpub in Karlsruhe . 22/07/2015 Three days after the Etape du Tour.Pale yellow coloured pour with a lasting white frothy head. Aroma is subdued pils grains, honey, light earthy hop. Flavour is composed of grainy, semi sweet, pils, light honey. Simple clean beer if a bit boring, Meh, Palate is semi sweet moderate carbonation.
