Deep and malty. With a large quantity of specialty malts (Caramel, Black Malt, Black Barley, Chocolate, Brown Malt, Munich, Brown Malt … we threw the kitchen sink at this one) our Imperial Stout has a tremendous depth of flavor. Magnum hops are added during the boil to balance the substantial maltiness and Mt. Hood hops provide a nice spicy finish.

Bottled. An almost black beer with a red shine under a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of alcohol and roasted malt, leading to a dry bitter finish.

This beer pours a dark brown/black with a medium thick and foamy tan head that recedes steadily. Sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and chocolate in the nose. Medium body with flavors of toasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The finish is malty with a mild hops and coffee aftertaste. Decent overall, glad this is the beer that introduced me to Dick’s.

Relatively weak aroma of raisins and dates. Black, slightly viscous pour, thin yellow head. Well balanced coffee, raisin, charred oak flavor. Licorice and coffee finish. Bloody mouthfeel. Alcohol well hidden. An imperial stout that is better "down your gullet" than "in your face". Tasty.

I’d have to say I can’t seem to get enough Dick’s. This is my ninth rating of brews from Dick’s Brewing Company and I still want more. This one has about two years on it. Pours deep dark brown with thin mocha head. The aroma is sweet multi layered goodness with notes of caramel, faint chocolate and toffee. The taste is a bit astringent with dark and roasty malts moving toward chocolate and a hint of dark fruity esters. By midway it gets smoother with roastiness mixing with a smoothed out chocolate notes. It ends with yummy roasty malts, caramel and chocolate.
