Look: opaque deep brown with a one finger tall off-white head of mediocre retention. Nose: dark malts, dried fruit, candy, spicy notes resembling cinnamon and coriander. Taste: moderately sweet, malty. Toast, candy, dried fruit, spices, restrained Belgian yeast. Chocolate and hop at ending. Light plus bitterness. Palate: medium plus body. average to lively carbonation. Overall: a decent strong dark Belgian ale lacking the esters' luxury of some elite style examples.
