Oude Geuze VAT 110 has foeder No. 110, a cognac storage vat in a previous life, to thank for its light dry but exceptionally full-bodied taste, finished with a hint of vanilla and dry fruit. This Oude Geuze is epitomised by a wealth aromas, cultivated by the wild Brett yeasts in the vat.

Bottle @ home to toast New Year’s 2017-2018. This one is more complex than the previous two vats I sampled. Dry, juicy, tons of cheese and funk. Not overly assertive but still is a beautiful easy drinker. Dry and herbal. Not too sour. Very herbal and grassy. A treat.

Bottle at Jim’s back tasting! Bit hazy golden with white head. Quite some funk, grassy, sweet oak, Bretty, peach, light alcohol, white wine, grains, sweet gooseberries. Medium sweet, just medium sour and bitter. Over medium bodied with fine sparkly carbonation. Bit champagne like, present alcohol is a bit too much but otherwise nice.
