Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel, peach, pear, pineapple, red/green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, peppercorn, leathery/musty funk, wet wood, oaken vanilla, wheat, cracker, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy/light acidic yeast, oak, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel, peach, pear, pineapple, red/green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, peppercorn, leathery/musty funk, wet wood, oaken vanilla, wheat, cracker, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/oak spiciness and some lactic tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel, peach, pear, pineapple, red/green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, peppercorn, leathery/musty funk, wet wood, oaken vanilla, wheat, cracker, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/light acidic yeast, oak, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/spiciness balance; and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from tart/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a fantastic gueuze! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/light acidic yeast, oak, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly acidic/spicy/drying finish. Never overly lactic. Classic barnyard Gueuze Brett funk profile as expected; balanced pale/wheat malts and oak presence. Very similar to Black Label with a bit more malt body and oak presence. A bit higher ABV. Not as carbonated. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Bottle at T'Brugs Beertje, 20/01/18. Deep golden with a well presented white head. Nose is damp alleyway, barnyard, pissy hay bale, lemon rind, tannins, funk. Taste comprises vanilla oak, damp cloth, barnyard, apple core, dried fruits, damp straw, pissy citric shreds, vinous, mellow brett. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with balanced acidity. Solid geuze ... great balance and dribkability.

Bottle @ home. Hazy golden colour with a large white head. Smells sour, very fruity, very fresh, nice. Tastes sweet, apricot, fruity. Very nice. Medium body, medium carbo.

C: Head fast gone, orangey-copper beer. 4/5 N: Citrus, lemon, horseblanket, barnyard. 9/10 T: Citrussy flavour; leathery, lemon. Finish is a tad sweeter than the other Vats. 8/10 MF: Outspoken dry, even dry-out effect. 4/5 O: Despite a somewhat sweeter finish, quite dry gueuze. 17/20 Thanks to M & L!
