Команда Петербуржцев сделала ставку на новизну. Оригинальная рецептура была разработана и согласована пивоварами непосредственно к самому конкурсу. Основную интригу сорту придавала легенда, ради которой в рецептуру классического русского имперского стаута были добавлены нужные ингредиенты.
Легенда, вдохновившая пивоваров на создание этого сорта: Эгиль - персонаж скандинавских саг, которого заставили сбить яблоко на голове его трехлетнего сына. Он попросил две стрелы, но сбил яблоко первой же. Когда король Нидунг поинтересовался, зечем две, Эгиль ответил, что в случае гибели сына вторая стрела предназначалась бы ему.

BOTTLE 50 CL from magicmn. Bottled 23-MAR-2015. The aroma is more or less conventional (though not stellar) - roast, coffee and some chocolate. There’s a hint of fruity acidity, but it is quite faint. The taste, on the other hand, has loads of malic apple juice acidity, which is as strong, if not stronger, as the roast malts. The finish is a somewhat dirty vegetal bitterness of raw hops. The body is quite light and the carbonation is almost flat. Bizarre, but not great.

Bottle 0.5 l. Almost black with creamy foam. Aroma: fresh and dried apples, roasted barley, coffee, dark chocolate, wild cherry, hops, wine and liquor. Taste: powerful apple (a little sour), roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and port wine, cider, warm, long finish.
