Bottle, 10-2012 cellar release. Hazy yellow-orange body, thick, puffy dirty off-white head. Effervescent carbonation. Delicate, lacy nose, doughy and grassy with spice and light fruits, mostly on the dry/bitter side. Herbal, doughy, spicy body, a tad hoppier than expected, but mostly focused on soft, bready esters and dry white wine. Hints of warming alcohol in the finish. Quite nice.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a small white head that dissipates with some lacing. Aroma is fruity with notes of yeast and spice. Flavor is medium sweet fruit, orange, coriander, yeast, with a warming alcoholic finish. Lots of fine carbonation that prickles the tongue somewhat unpleasantly.

33cl bottle at Jack of All Trades, Malta. Pours golden with a white head. Fruity aroma with hints of citrus, spices, alcohol and yeast. Alcohol is fairly well integrated. Sweet and fruity with a fairly dry finish. Quite nice, but not a favourite. (2012-09-23)

11.2 oz bottle from a Brouwerij Van Steenberge variety pack. Pours hazy yellow (don’t know why it says amber color up there in the description) with a large white fluffy head with great retention. First aroma to hit the senses is skunk, which disappears within a minute. Besides that, it’s a dusty, somewhat funky smelling beer with a cream pie character. Taste is like cotton candy or bubblegum; also dark fruit. It’s sweet and sour, different. Mouthfeel is foamy, massively carbonated. It’s alright, but nothing I’d ever go out of the way to buy again.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a clear yellow good with thick creamy white head leavin spotty lacing. The aroma is wheat and clove. Thin mouthfeel with a light citrus and wheat with light dry finish. Easy to drink hiding the alcohol well. A good Belgian strong ale.

Pour is a clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is a little like apple cider with some dust and sugar. Flavor is super dry. Some dry malt to start then comes a bit of white wine and honey. After the swallow its just a dry malt left on the tounge. This beer saps any kind of moisture in your mouth and your left with a desert on your tounge.

Bottle @ De Bierbistro, Brugge. Cloudy peach colour with a head. Strong tasting but its pale malts are evident in its nose and provide for a smooth texture that feels good in the palate. There’s hints of fruits in here.

Not really my cup of tea. The typical metallic taste of the Augustijn beers. Light sour. The taste of alcohol isn’t in balance with the other aroma’s
