Much like the majestic moutain lion, this delicious Belgian Tripel can really sneak up on you! Thanks to its complex earthy, floral and fruity notes, thick bubbly head, fine effervescence and silky smooth mouth feel, Troubridge Tripel sits at the summit of Belgian style beers.

Hazy amber, with thin head. Smells like plastic and nail polish remover. I still can't get over the fact that the brewer is Belgian...cause they never get the ferm right on their Belgian styles. On the palate, more plasticy. The headsy stuff isn't there, but it's thick underfermented pale malt, gloppy and plasticy. When you consider that the benchmark of the style, Westmalle, is hoppy, you wonder what the fuck is going on with brewers in North America who make sticky, underattenuated tripels. You can't just throw some shit in a kettle and hope for the best with styles like this; you have to take your craft seriously.

473mL can. Pours murky gold with foamy white head. Bubblegum sweetness on the nose is dialed in by a restrained malty character. Flavour has chewy bubblegum, sweetbread; lingering bitter finish to the sweets. Definitely a bit better dialed in than the blonde version, but still pretty half-assed.
