Cask at the fleece, Penwortham. Hahaha, you guys are HILARIOUS. Knocker up, geddit? It’s like getting someone pregnant with your child! Oh, top bantz. Kudos. Kudos squared. Awesomeness beyond time itself. Regardless of the Archbishop of Banterbury that comes up with the names for these products, what we have here is a clear brown beer with a thin tan head, honey aroma, faint chocolate at the back. Clean finish. Just get the names into the 21st century lads, eh?

Burnley Beer Festival. Black with a very small head. A fine ale with a smooth roasted aroma and taste.

Cask at NWAF, 2011. Black pour with a beige head. Aromas of blackberries, chocolate, gooseberries and dark fruits. Fruity nose. Toffee malt flavours with vanilla, chocolate and some light coffee notes. Malty, sweet finish.

Bottle: Deep reddish-amber coloured, floaties visible, small - slowly collapsing - beige head, that leaves rings on the glass; distinctive sweet roasty nose with traces of dried fruits and chocolate (including a little acidity); moderate dry bitter-sweet flavour, almost medium bodied, soft; slightly lingering roasty-chocolatey finish with a light acidity in the aftertaste. Decent and well rounded......

Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 10, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear dark brown amber color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, dark roasted, chocolate, coffee, light to light moderate hoppy, citrus, licorice - english sweet licorice notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100122]

Cask. Clear orangey brown with a small off-white head. Lightly tart aroma, wood and overripe fruit. Medium body, completely flat, hard roasted malt, dried fruit and a little coffee. Lightly malt bitter finish. 220110

Bottled. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is honey, a bit nutty, some mild not-too-sweet syrup. Flavour is quite similar with also bigtime caramel. Mild cardboardy notes.

50 cL bottle, courtesy of Paul. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Light acidic and roasted aroma. Sweet flavoured. Roasted and slight roasted flavoured too. Light acidic and slight sweet flavoured. Roasted and malty flavoured finish.
