In our opinion, some of our best brewing comes from setting our brewers a task and seeing what results they come back with. As our latest hop delivery had a boat load of South Pacific hops to add to our usual Stateside slammers, we tasked our brewers with creating an IPA with comparable flavour and aroma characteristics, using an American hop and an Australian hop, with just enough contrast between the two to be able to differentiate between them. The result is Blue Gold – an IPA with equal parts Simcoe and Enigma in the dry-hop charge. Whilst these two varietals share similar characteristics of imparting stone fruit, berry, and tropical notes into a beer, we really love how the subtle raspberry and pinot gris notes of Enigma display themselves toward the back end of the palate. Delicious.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Milky golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of papery malt, blueberry and orange pith. Flavour of melon and minerals with a dry finish. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s rough around the edges - quite papery and raw. Enjoyable though.
