Helles pale lager. Hopped with a combination of British First Gold and Hallertau Perle, Freedom Four has an initial sweetness that slides into a hoppy bitter finish. Mid-weight body and great smoothness ensure it’s easy-drinking, while lively natural carbonation refreshes through to a crisp finish.

Draft at Pieminister Cardiff. A bit of a disappointing start, a dull, lifeless pour. Light grainy aroma, but not overly sweet. Taste brings more grainy flavors, a touch of sweetness with a hint of bitterness. Not as bad as the ratings would have you think.

Bottle at PoW, Farnborough. Grass and yeast aroma. Pale gold. Creamy but very thin head. Gains in bitterness but never more than medium. Some malts. Light bodies. Thin. Crisp. Low key fizzy carb. Dry finish. It's OK. More interesting than some of the other Helles I've had but not saying much.
