33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Wijn&Verwonderen, Culemborg. Murky amber with lots of sediments ans a big creamy white head. Bit of a gusher too. Smoky aroma with some red pepper and hops. Taste is bittersweet with some chili hotness and also some fruity notes. Weird but tasty.

Pleasant warm, smokey aroma. Initially some fruity hops come through. Then the smokiness comes through before the heat gradually builds up. Complex and interesting and a good match for many a meal.

Tap @ UBF ’15. Murky dark amber color (I think). Off white head with long retention. Aroma’s: smokey, with some malty sweetness. Retronasal: additionally some herbs & spices. Flavor: Moderate sweet, smokey. Medium bodied. Light spiciness, but not overly so. Finishes rather bitter. Nice!

Aroma of fruits, smoke, caramel, some peat, some pepper, hops. Flavour is above moderate sweet with a medium bitter finish. Wow, lots of different flavours to entertain the tastebuds. I loved it and I praise Ceaux for this succesful experiment.

Bottle @ home shared with Thompson. Hazy dark orange color, small white to off-white head. The aroma reminds me of the fingerpaint I used in primary school. Smoke and peat rule this aroma. Taste malts, hops indeed but they are dominated by peppery, peaty and smoky influences. After a while though the hops get more dominant so they provide some counterweight sort of speak to the other flavors. And pretty well balanced. A light pepper burn in the finish. I must admit, initially I thought this was rubbish, but, albeit not really my kind of thing, it is very well done.

33cl Bottle from Sterk Avondverkoop. Almost clear orange-amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of smoked peppers, smoke, tar, fingerpaint, sweet malts, hops. Flavour is sweet, sticky, fruity, orange, marmalade, smoke, smoked pepper, nice mildly hot finish with some citrusy and fruity hops. Full bodied, oily. Really nice.

Bottle. Copper orange peer, almost no head. Aroma of smokey bacon and candi sugar. Taste is smoke at first, than boozy sweetness, some fruity hops and with a pepper burn in the finish. Interesting to feel it develop. This is a weird beer. You need to love extreme beers and be in the right mood to appreciate this. I think I am, but I wonder whether I still like it when I finish the bottle.

Bottle @ Nobelstraat bierfestival Cafe Rex, large sample. Slight hazy amber color, short head. Aroma of peated malt, slight fruity hop, bit peppermint, bit biscuity malt. Soft bitter in taste, peat again, bit caramelly sweetness. Finishes with a soft chili pepper bite. It’s an odd combination and I was expecting the worst, but it turns out quite drinkable actually.
