Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is of dry stale malt leading to a medium bitter, liqourice, smoky peat flavour. The palate is little watery and the bitterness in the finish was not the best I’ve tasted.

Cask. A deep red beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and caramel, leading to a dry finish.

Cask at the Babbington Arms, JDW, Derby 08-09-07 Black in colour with a a ruby hue, a small tan head that soon dissappeared . Good roasty taste, smooth, with a slightly sour edge interesting and quite challenging but one that I grew to like as it slipped down.
