Strong, though the ageing has mellowed out the booze. Graduated high school the year this came out.

From Bine and Vine.
Pours a murky brown, much smaller head of off white foam that the 2010 had.
Similar sweet caramel, oxidation notes. Sharp bitter aroma, some minor toffee notes.
Taste is sharp bitterness, caramel malt, oxidation brings some cardboard, aftertaste is not pleasant.
Close to full bodied, carbonation is on the lighter side, my last one of 2009, I reckon.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 02/16/2012. The beer is clear copper-amber color with a medium thin bone white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Roast malt, caramel, hops and fruit in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, piney hops and fruit. The finish is malty up front with a resiny hop aftertaste. Good Barley Wine all around.
