bottle from the brewery. I carried this beer to canada and back without incident and now drinking at home peacefully. pours a chestnut brown with small dispersing head. tastes of plum, some spice, some yeast and wheat. Not overpowering flavors but enough going on to contemplate on wednesday.

Bottle shared by footbalm. This thing was a slow gusher but kept on foaming for hours after it was opened, even after 1/2 the bottle had been sampled.
Appearance: Poured a slightly hazy golden with floaters, a huge foamy off-white head and some lacing
Aroma: Belgian candy, yeasty and some spices
Taste: We knew it might not be good because of the slow gusher, aroma was very nice. But, the taste gave us the final verdict. It was oxidized, cardboardy and sour
It was footbalmed :(

This beer is a mess - the aroma is somewhat inviting, with a lot of plumy sweetness, a wheaty tang to balance it, and a fair amount of spice from the yeast - however the flavor kind of falls apart - everything is harsh and rough - tang and acidity that become fairly abrasive - harsh alcohol and spiciness - brash, rough malts - sugar and moderate dark fruits on the end - finishes dry, with mild phenols and medicinal bitterness - Ithaca has really started dropping the ball on these anniversary beers.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Foamy tan head micros as it slowly recedes leaving sheet lacing. Almond and pit fruit aromas. Bubbly and sharp with upfront chocolate and nuts - turns hot and peppery in the pit fruit finish. Sharpness fades as it warms increasing the drinkability.
