750 mL bottle shared by BrewEngineer at the 12th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 9/18/10. Pours a hazy copper color with small floaties. Medium tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, caramel, roasty notes and a tart, spicy finish. The taste is toffee, caramel, bread, spices, cinnamon and stone fruits. Medium-full bodied.

750ml bottle shared at a tasting. Thick, unfiltered, yeasty brown color. Foamy head, gusher. Though the style isn’t so prolific, this may be the best Quad I’ve ever had. Yeasty and thick, which i think works perfectly. Some fruity bitterness, but mostly a yeast bomb. Mmm. Rich, nice beer.

Bottle courtesy of BrewEngineer at the 12th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 09/18/2010. Mostly clear copper amber body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet dark malt and belgian spice aroma. Dark malt, spice, and lightly astringent flavor. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

Bottle 75cl. @ ChrisOs Pre-GBBF Shindig 2010.[ Raise The Roof Tasting ]. Unclear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, dusty, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dusty, peppery, nutty notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100731]

Bottle: Poured a dirty beige/amber color ale with a huge off-white head with good retention and some lacing. Bottle was quite a gusher which makes me wonder if everything was fine. Aroma is grossly oversweet with lots of notes of dry fruits. Taste is quite unbalanced with loads of sugar and excessively sweet dry plums and gross caramel notes. Body is quite full with excessive carbonation (even for the style) and no detectable alcohol. I either got a bad bottle or this is one incredible mess.

Bottle Thanks to ditmier. Pours out a dark cloudy amber topped with a tall tan head. Aroma was of pit fruit, belg yeast, caramel, and a good amount of spice. Taste was a bit tart with more of the spice showing through. Lots of little tiny bubbles.
