In early July, 2006 in commemoration of our 10th Anniversary, and the brewing of the 100th Batch of beer brewed at our new Pinnacle Peak brewery, Brewmaster Scott Yarosh wanted to do something different. The “Sonoran 100” is a naturally fermented Malt liqueur flavored with Honey and a hint of Maple. After the 9 week fermentation, we aged our “100” for several months before running the whole batch through our custom filter of toasted Maple and Oak wood chips. The result was a Bourbon-like brew that is best served in a small snifter or as a shot on the rocks for those that prefer it chilled. This 19.5 % ABV is the first brew in a continuing series of “Extreme Brews” the Sonoran Brewing Company has planed. Every 100 batches we will brew something wild! Keep an Eye out for It!

Bottle shared by Toby. Looks like dirty river water in my glass. Smokey, ham, ash tray. The good is that I don't get any abv.

Bottle thanks to Toby. 200/1000. Pours a murky brown hue. A funky nasty nose. Light flavor, almost nutty, cardboard.

6th June 2009
Cloudy dark brown beer. Odd nose of chicory barbeque. Medium palate, slighty dry. Almost no carbonation. The odd nose carries over to the flavour. Barbeque chicory! Underneath is a little sour malt. A little brandy. Ah the joy of beer! Who woulda thought that such a strong beer could taste so left field? Hides it’s abv extraodinarily well. Shared again at ChrisOs per GBBF gathering 2010. The chicory has faded a lot revealing a richer malt. Still has a slightly weird edge though.

Bottled. An amber beer with no head. The aroma has notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and chocolate, leading to a dry and roasted finish.

Bottle 40 cl. Courtesy of daknole. Bottle 702/1000. Pours a cloudy dark amber with no head. The nose has some caramel and loads of smoke. Medium body, completely flat, caramel and nuts with some strange smoky accents. Boozy, baconish finish. 221110

Bottle courtesy of argo0, thank you sir! Chewy body, plenty of chocolate, but that’s about it. Uninspired.
