500ml bottle shared with Magne and CinnamonGirl at Cains Brewery Tap. Amber body. Bubbly, off-white head with long lived retention. Sweet aroma of dark fruits. Jam-like flavour with dark fruits and sweet raisin. Well bodied, but in danger of getting too sweet. Reminds me of Norwegian Christmas beers (Liverpool, 04.05.2009).

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear amber golden with a small bubbly off-white head. Sweet aroma of pumpernickel and caramel. Quite a full body with a good malt base and plenty of sweet caramel. Almost no bitterness. A surprisingly good take on the style - considering itโ€™s British! 290608

Bottle (@ RBESG 2008): Clear, amber coloured, moderate sweet-dark-malty nose, some dried fruits and molasses detectable, nuts too; moderate to stronger sweet, slightly bitter flavour; becomes more bitter towards the end. Really not bad......

Bottled at RBESG. Clear brownish amber. Sweet and caremlly with medium to full body. Well rounded with a bit of butter and red berries. Toffeeish warming finish. Really good British bockbier!

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer with a beige head. Sweetish nose with caramel, some fruityness and hop-notes. Caramel-sweet flavor too with a touch of grains. Full, sticky, slightly warming mouthfeel. Probably too sweet for a rating of 3.5, but I like it quite well. Thereโ€™s probably better doppelbocks that Iโ€™ve ratet at the same score, but at least it felt right when drinking it. (080301)
