Chocolate malt and Oats in the mash give the dark appearance and smooth mouthfeel. Molasses in the boil adds to the complexity of the malt bill. Sabro and Sovereign in the whirlpool adds a Floral-Coconut vibe to complement the Madagascan vanilla pods which are added to the end of fermentation.

440ml can at Tønne, Leicester. Mid-brown, very translucent with a loose khaki head. Aroma is light, a little bit of vanilla and some coffee. Flavour is improved, with over-roasted coffee and vanilla pod. Initial sweetness with a bitter finish. Light body with heavy carbonation. A little ho-hum.l think but overall drinkable.

Cask-conditioned at the Robert Fitzharding (JDW), Bristol 2/1/2019. Jet black, with a creamy, off-white, head. Plain chocolate, a hint of dark fruit sweetness, vanilla and a toast finish. A good stout.
